The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Karpagam College of Engineering is organizing a one-day national-level workshop on "One Day National Level Workshop on "Antenna Design for Next Generation Wireless Applications" on February 16, 2024.The workshop emphasizes the design of the 5G mmWave antenna, a pioneering cellular technology that uses massive MIMO to increase capacity and coverage. It was primarily developed in the frequency bands above 24 GHz to 40 GHz. The workshop further outlines the advantages of 5G mmWave technology, which can offer sufficient bandwidth (5G mmWave frequency bands) for an increase of internet-connected devices in a number of applications, including telemedicine, autonomous vehicles, indoor shopping malls, education hubs, stadiums, convention centres, and other data-intensive uses. The workshop's second session is a live, hands-on practice that outlines the design approach and simulation process for creating an elementary 5G antenna with the simulation software. Students in UG and PG programmes, researchers, and academicians will get new insights from this session that will help them improve their 5G antenna design portfolio.
